My name is Matt and I was born and raised in Jamaica, where golf was a sport reserved for the elite. My world was soccer, tennis, and volleyball— sports that gave me a path to a college scholarship in the U.S. But coming here was a shock. I was smaller than most at 5’5”, I moved differently, thought differently, ate differently. Everything about me set me apart. And at first, that was intimidating.
Over time, I learned something: being different isn’t a weakness—it’s a strength. Dare to be different became my mantra. It wasn’t about forcing myself to blend in, but about bringing the things that made me unique into every situation—for the betterment of the moment, the team, and the people around me.
For more than 30 years, that mindset has carried me in life and business. And it’s at the heart of BaaD Sheep Golf.
Golf, to me, is more than tradition or scorecards. It’s about expression, individuality, and the courage to play your own game. A sheep may symbolize peace, warmth, and belonging, but a BaaD Sheep dares to stand out—uplifting others along the way.
